New COLA options available now through May 15

This message is for IAM-represented employees.

As noted in Greg Hart’s message yesterday, we’ve made a change based on feedback from many full-time IAM-represented employees about their desire to remain at full-time status and willingness to voluntarily reduce their weekly schedules to 30 hours in order to do that. Instead of the election to switch from full-time to part-time as announced on May 1, we’re now offering the opportunity to choose from new Company-Offered Leave of Absence (COLA) options. There are new options for both full-time and part-time employees.

For IAM-represented employees, the enrollment window for the new set of COLA options is now open and will close on Friday, May 15 (11:59 p.m. CT).

Your options with this COLA program are:

Reduced work schedule for full-time employees – continuation of all benefits

    • Decrease from 40 hours to 30 hours per week through September 30
    • Decrease from 40 hours to 20 hours per week through September 30

 

Reduced work schedule for part-time employees – continuation of all benefits

    • Decrease from 20 hours to 15 hours per week through September 30
    • Decrease from 20 hours to 10 hours per week through September 30

 

Full leave of absence for full-time and part-time employees – continuation of most benefits

    • Full leave | 3 months
    • Full leave | 6 months

Reduced-schedule options will be authorized and effective immediately, and your leadership or staff planning group will reach out to you with your new schedule. Full leave, if approved, will begin May 24, 2020.

If there is not enough participation in these new offerings, especially in the option to decrease from 40 hours to 30 hours, we may have to revisit the mandatory reduction of hours.

Please note that if you requested a COLA during an earlier enrollment window, you won’t be able to cancel it. But if you signed up for a three-month COLA (full leave or reduced schedule), you may be able to extend to a six-month COLA, subject to approval. If you’d like to make that change, you can go to Help Hub, click the “Requests” link and add a note to your existing COLA request. Or you can contact the Employee Service Center at 877-825-3729 and follow the prompts for HR Operations. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
